At Olive Secondary School the emphasis is on providing a first class education in a secure environment where the individual pupil's development is regularly monitored and assessed. The comprehensive curriculum will thoroughly prepare our pupils for higher or further education.

The subjects covered provide a broad range of information that are delivered in effective and creative ways to ensure that the students are challenged as well as enjoying their time learning at school.

Throughout the school we place emphasis upon the areas of public speaking, community work and leadership/ life skills. This forms part of our enrichment and empowerment drive. This is woven into the curriculum and the school day throughout form time, competitions, and themed weeks to enable development in these areas.

A novel KS3 Curriculum which involves Functional Skills (Level 1 & 2) in English, Mathematics and ICT which are equivalent to half a GCSE and Entry Level Certificate Science double award. We believe this better prepares students for KS4.

The GCSE bundle the school offers is a rigorous one comprising of English Language, English Literature, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Religious Studies, Urdu, History, Citizenship, ICT and Arabic.

It is hoped that the students will be able to take any career path of their choice by the time they leave school.

We currently offer Olive College students the following courses:

The aims and objectives of the Pearson Edexcel Level 3 Certificate in Mathematics in Context are to enable students to:  Develop competence in the selection and use of mathematical methods and techniques.

Build skills in mathematical thinking, reasoning and communication.

A-Level Psychology

Edexcel A level Psychology specification aims to develop students’ appreciation of the scientific nature of psychology, and allow them to engage in contemporary debates through an understanding of research.
